Even though it is native in North American countries, you can still grow one for yourself in a humid type of weather here in the Philippines – but it may require a lot of attention and effort to take care of.
Ideally, Dwarf Sunflower - like its giant counterpart - is well-suited to grow outside with direct sunlight. If you want to consider making it an indoor plant, you must make extra efforts to always make sure that it still gets enough sunlight that it needs to grow healthy.
Also, don’t get too attached to this plant as they are also being considered as an annual plant – they die after they blooms.

Sun Dwarf Sunflower thrives with full sun – I guess that is why it’s named “Sunflower”. It needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight everyday.
Water
Dwarf Sunflower can be drought tolerant, however, like any other plants, it also needs to be watered properly. Water it once a week or always keep its soil moist, but not overwatered. Also make sure that the pot has a proper drainage system to avoid your sunflower to be drown in case that you accidentally pour too much water than what it needs.
You need to water container plants more often than plants grown in the ground.
Sunflower can grow in almost all types of garden soil, however it is essential to ensure that the soil is well-draining. You can mix it with compost or fertilizer into the top 6 inches of your garden bed.
